TMJ and Oro-facial pain

The symptoms of TMJ are debilitating and can greatly interfere with your everyday life. Do you ever wake up with pain or stiffness in your jaw? Do you experience pain in your jaw or temple on any regular basis? Do you get headaches upon awakening? Does your jaw click or pop?

Do your ears sometimes feel stuffy or ring? Have you ever had aching pain in and around ears? Have you cracked teeth lately? Do your jaws ever tire easily?
Many of these symptoms are indications of TMJ. They may result in a number of changes to the bones, cartilage, disks, ligaments, nerves and muscles that operate and surround the jaw joint. Upon diagnosis, TMJ can be easily managed. If not diagnosed, it cannot only lead to unpleasant symptoms, but have highly destructive consequences for teeth, gums and their supporting structures. Dr. Burger's specialized TMJ treatment can help improve the discomfort you are experiencing. Contact us today for an appointment.

Sleeping disorders

Certain sleeping disorders can be properly diagnosed and treated by your dentist.
  • Sleep apnea is a potentially life-threatening sleep disorder characterized by repeated pauses in breathing during sleep. Dr. Burger can offer many different treatment options including dental devices and surgery.
  • Bruxism is a sleeping disorder involving the grinding of teeth and the clenching of the jaw (although this can also occur during the day). Upon diagnosis, treatment options include mouthguards, a NTI-tss device and Botox. Speak with us today to learn more!
